Medical Disclaimer & Calculator Limitations
Updated · MetaSys Limited
A calculator result is a starting point for understanding a measurement—not a diagnosis or treatment plan.
No medical advice
CalcFit is a MetaSys Limited educational product. It does not provide medical care, clinical diagnosis, personalized dietary treatment or professional training supervision. Do not delay seeking medical advice because of a result. For an emergency, contact your local emergency service.
Estimates have limits
Body composition equations, resting-energy formulas, activity multipliers and race predictions describe populations or simplified models. They do not measure your metabolism, fat percentage, fitness or nutritional needs directly. Input error, rounding and differences between people can produce substantially different results.
Nutrition and weight
Adult calorie and weight tools are not suitable for setting targets for children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, an eating disorder, or conditions and medications that affect metabolism. Do not use a calculator to justify extreme restriction. A fixed calorie deficit does not predict a guaranteed weight-loss rate; needs change over time.
Children and pregnancy
Child BMI interpretation requires age- and sex-specific reference data and growth history. Our child BMI tool calculates the number only and links to the CDC for percentile assessment. Pregnancy tools estimate dates or broad guideline ranges; your maternity team’s assessment takes priority.
Exercise and other tools
Heart-rate zones and lifting estimates do not establish that an activity is safe for you. Medication and medical conditions may alter heart rate. Stop exercise and seek appropriate help for concerning symptoms. Fluid and protein estimates may be unsuitable if you have prescribed restrictions. Surface-area outputs must not be used for medication dosing.
Rules of thumb are not clinical measurements
Sleep-cycle timing, muscle-gain timelines, frame-size categories and similar tools use simplified assumptions. Sleep cycles vary; muscle growth is not linear. A “metabolic age” is not an established diagnosis or a reliable measure of biological age. Our metabolic-age page explains this limitation instead of assigning an invented age.
